Initiated by Fetzer, the new partnership with Harvard Divinity School (HDS) would be a collaboration with Casper ter Kuile and Angie Thurston as they research and support emerging forms of spiritual community within and outside religious traditions. This project supports an initial phase of work, including site visits to new communities, networking with leaders of secular organizations, and collaboration with national leaders of religious denominations.

The case study will document the process of operationalizing Fetzer's Community of Freedom (the name of our staff community), how it came to be, and what it looks like; surface outcomes from the COF, on both individual and collective spiritual journeys as well as on the organization and the way in which the Institute works; and would highlight obstacles and successes along the way.
