Support for a project that will involve analysis of the democracy landscape, in-depth interviews of thought leaders on what it will take to catalyze personal, communal, and national civic renewal, and a strategy meeting at the Fetzer Institute to explore methodologies on how to spark a cultural renewal in the U.S.

Support for The Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University's first International Science of Compassion Conference in Belfast, Ireland and a citywide Compassion Festival promoting science and interfaith dialogue in March 2020. The main goal of the conference is to stress the centrality of compassion to the faith traditions through science and draw attention to how negative narratives perpetuate fear by pointing out the ways compassion serves as an antidote.

Support the Changing the Narrative Workgroup of the Grantmakers for Thriving Youth. As one of the major outcomes, a specific convening on Narrative Change, open to all GTY members towards the end of 2020, will provide a good opportunity for this affinity group to expand their thinking on the holistic nature of reality and a whole child framework.

Launched by Gerard Senehi and Francesca Rusciani in 2013, Open Future Institute (OFI)’s QUESTion Project inspires public high school and university students with a sense of infinite possibilities and empowers them to shape their life and future with meaning and purpose. OFI has built strong partnerships with more than ten public schools in South Bronx, New York City, and Los Angeles and has engaged with tens of thousands of students.

A convening of international thought leaders and clinicians focused on spirituality at end-of-life, August 4-8, 2019. The primary purpose of the convening is to deepen and unify both the Institute’s and participants’ understanding of spiritual transformation at end of life and the major trends and considerations for this area of inquiry and practice.

Support for the 2021 Academy of Management (AOM) and its Management, Spirituality and Religion (MSR) special interest group.

Support for the 2019 Academy of Management (AOM) and its Management, Spirituality and Religion (MSR) special interest group being held on August 9-13, in Boston by supporting $2,500 per student for up to 20 graduate students and junior faculty members in the MSR field to attend the 2019 Academy of Management Conference, including the pre-conference MSR Research Consortium, the Academy of Management, and the post-conference MSR Retreat.

This project will co-fund a major funding mechanism that will strengthen American democracy by promoting interventions around empathy building, storytelling, and other experience driven initiatives designed to open hearts and heal divides. The fund will serve as an experiment to identify, test, and scale effective methodologies for dealing with deep differences.

This initiative seeks to convene scholars in the business sector to explore social intrapreneurship as a field of study. The idea of cultivating next generation leaders inside corporations for organizational and spiritual transformation is central to this concept. This project builds on the success of the First Movers Fellowship with the Aspen Institute and will invite scholars to explore how social intrapreneurship might become a field of study. The project will convene up to 15 scholars in August 2018 for an initial consultation at Seasons.
