To create and pilot assessments for measuring the effectiveness of dialogue-based interventions intentionally used to bridge political, spiritual, and other divides among the citizenry. Living Room Conversations (LRC) is a bridge-building dialogue methodology designed for face-to-face and online participation. An evaluation mechanism and/or case-study approach will be created, tested and revised, using LRCs as a pilot case and relying on past participants to provide longitudinal data.

Support for a research program that aims to answer an empirical question via close collaboration between neuroscientists and philosophers. In particular, we will test (I) whether human intentions are causally efficacious for our decisions and behavior; (2) what is the specific role of consciousness when intentions guide behavior; and (3) what, if any, is the difference between conscious control in deliberate versus arbitrary decisions.

To address a complex system of challenges, the Inclusive America Project (IAP) of the Aspen Institute has invited foundations to participate in a field building effort in religious pluralism by creating a community of practice among funders.
