Funding to develop a partnership with Images & Voices of Hope (IVOH) to provide fellowships for journalists and storytellers to employ Restorative Narratives and engage in reflective practices; a strategic learning retreat with IVOH’s board; and a “train the trainer” event to expand qualified Restorative Narrative coaches who can nurture a community of practitioners. Through these activities, IVOH seeks to build more empathetic, compassionate communities of journalists whose work taps into our innate resilience and connects us across differences.

Convening at Seasons on behalf of Fetzer's Board of Trustees, January 14-18, 2019. "Awakening to Love: An Inquiry around Spiritual Transformation." Spiritual teachers and scholars across diverse faith traditions, academic disciplines, and practice settings will participate.

Year 1 Sponsorship for the iBme Teen Retreat which introduces youth to mindfulness through guided meditations, mindful movement, small group discussions and group activities.

Building on the Ethics in Action (EIA) Initiative, this project proposes the co-funding of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) with the SDG Academy to share learnings from the EIA with universities worldwide. Specifically, the project will aim to learn what it means to be a good person and how it relates to societal transformation from multiple perspectives. Importantly, the outcome of the project will depend on the group’s ability to demonstrate a high degree of convergence on virtue ethics both among the traditions and between the traditions and secular virtue ethics perspectives.

This sponsorship is for the Council on Foundations annual gathering. We would continue our presence around bridge building topics with other foundations and have an opportunity to share resources related to our democracy initiative.

To deepen and expand our collaborations with the Ashoka U Exchange organization over the next two years (2019 and 2020) to foster a community of innovators in the context of higher education who are dedicated to driving forward a movement to heal the heart of American democracy.

The Devil’s Advocacy Initiative will be a series of three closed-door convenings of citizens from both the left and from the right, in which participants are guided to name and challenge the assumptions, pieties, biases, and narratives of their own ideological “tribe” – and afterwards, to meet and engage their counterparts from the other side for mutual learning.
