I’ve always delighted in being able to connect people with the natural world in ways that allow them to experience their environment deeply and meaningfully. My undergraduate degree in psychology and environmental studies paved the way for this beautiful integration of two passions of mine. The principles of permaculture – earth care, people care, and fair share – also shape my approach to my work. Making rest and retreat more accessible for all is something I try to work toward.

I also do a lot of the behind-the-scenes logistics and administrative work at GilChrist: working with group retreat facilitators, handling billing, managing social media, keeping the website up to date, cataloging the library, and also pitching in with cabin cleaning and feeding the goats.

When I’m not at work, you can find me volunteering in my Three Rivers community, cooking and baking in my kitchen, taking in thought-provoking television and movies with my husband, or daydreaming about grand garden plans for my backyard.

Guests are invited to get their hands in the soil during the 25 Days of GilChrist! We welcome willing volunteers to help our staff with the care and maintenance of the land and gardens that we hold dear. Tasks may include weeding, pruning, raking, or other fall clean-up projects as they arise.

Guests are welcomed to sign up to walk the labyrinth at GilChrist, as a way to celebrate our 25th anniversary! Our hope is to have at least one walker per day between October 1-25, to reflect the importance of being present on the land -- particularly in these challenging times.

Due to COVID safety considerations, a private, outdoor ceremony will be held.

Echoing elements of the original dedication in 1995, this ceremony will celebrate the inspiration that brought GilChrist into being as well as reflections on what GilChrist has inspired since its creation. An outdoor processional on the land will honor the past, present, and future of GilChrist while offering prayers for the people, land, creatures, and places within the GilChrist community.
