Broadway Advocacy Coalition Centering Faith and Spirituality

The Theater of Change is a groundbreaking methodology developed as a collaboration between the Broadway Advocacy Coalition and the Center for Institutional and Social Change at Columbia Law School. The Theater of Change workshop blends artistry, law, policy, and community engagement to produce activism: stories powerfully and artistically told with engagement strategies built in to have powerful impact in the arenas where change really happens. It creates spaces that enable artists, law and policy students, advocates, and policy makers, and those most directly affected by systemic racism and mass incarceration to understand each other, to build mutual and lasting relationships focused on making transformative change, and to use artistry to center the experiences, expertise, and leadership of those directly affected by mass incarceration in policies and public narratives aimed at transformation.
