This partnership will support Baylor University over five years to conduct a longitudinal global study on causality in human flourishing executed by Gallup. The Global Flourishing Study (GFS) will yield the first ever data set on a range of measures on well-being and health, religion and spirituality, and social, demographic, economic, political, and psychological variables. It will examine the determinants of well-being and the effects of religion/spirituality in a global probability-based panel study and will include all major faith traditions and "nones”. More specifically, it will shed light on the extent to which different nations are flourishing, explain the causes of societal flourishing, and establish how the different aspects of religion and spirituality affect flourishing in different cultural contexts around the world. With a budget expected to reach close to $42 million, the GFS will consist of 300,000 participants from 22 geographically and culturally diverse countries.
