Biography

I am an ordained minister and board certified as a chaplain by the Association of Professional Chaplains. As a Korean adoptee growing up in rural Iowa, my experiences propelled me to train and work as a hospital and US Air Force Reserve chaplain who embodies an inclusive and diverse understanding of spiritual care. Throughout my work and life experiences, I have repeatedly seen how love and compassion overcome despair and division.

Spiritual care—meaningfully connecting with Spirit, the earth, others, and ourselves—is what I bring to my work. I look forward to sharing my experience in strategic planning and practical approaches that nurture the spiritual growth of diverse leaders and teams.

In my past work, I collaborated with chaplain leaders in hundreds of faith groups, raised chaplaincy standards, redesigned inclusive communication strategies, and researched novel approaches to spiritual care. I have developed training for spiritual leaders in 1,100 church congregations and provided leadership during an organization-wide restructure. I have completed a Master of Divinity and a postgraduate clinical pastoral education residency at Allina Health in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I love being outside, whether hiking, downhill skiing, playing tennis, or spending the day at the beach. I am passionate about food—mostly the eating and somewhat the preparing of it. There is something magical and sacred about gathering around a table filled with food. My husband, Justin, is a nurse practitioner, and our two middle-school-aged kids keep us on our toes and bring so much joy and laughter into our lives.
